Summer Baseball: Eccher, Franklin edge Foxboro

FRANKLIN 6, FOXBORO 5: Brendon Eccher went 2-for-4 with an RBI, a run scored, and a stolen base as Franklin (11-7-1) held on to beat host Foxboro.

Marc Mele struck out six and allowed three earned runs in six innings for Franklin, which surrendered two runs in the seventh inning but halted the Foxboro rally with the potential tying run on third.

Bob Chaiton went 2-for-4 with an RBI, while Neal Hart went 2-for-3 with a stolen base and an RBI.

HUDSON 8, MEDFORD 1: Mike Bohane struck out three in a complete game as Hudson (5-10) routed visiting Medford.

Bohane needed just 91 pitches, as he allowed just seven hits and two walks, surrendering his only run in the seventh inning. Hudson broke a scoreless tie with a 4-run fourth inning, led by Zack Graham?s two-RBI single. Ben Palatino was 3-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI, while Ryan Wardwell had two hits, two runs scored, and an RBI.

AUBURN 9, MARLBOROUGH 5: Mike Yates went 2-for-4, but Marlborough fell to Auburn in Legion action.

Nick Keymont chipped in with a double and three RBIs for Marlborough, which fell to 2-22 on the season.
